Who Erin works with

You did not come home. You just changed clothes.

First responders are a real focus of this practice. The pattern Erin sees most is not one catastrophic call — it is accumulation. Hundreds of scenes stacked up with no room between them, a culture that rewards absorbing it, and a home life that quietly gets the version of you that is left over.

01First Responders

You will not have to explain the job

You can use the language you actually use. You do not have to soften the details or manage Erin's reaction to them. That alone saves the first several sessions.

02First Responders

Hypervigilance is a work skill that will not clock out

Scanning the room, sitting facing the door, reading everyone's hands — these kept you effective. The problem is not that you have them, it is that they no longer switch off at the driveway. Much of the work is teaching your system the difference between on-shift and off.

03First Responders

Confidentiality, plainly

Therapy records are protected health information. Erin does not report to your department, and telehealth means you can be seen without sitting in a waiting room in your own town. If you have questions about how confidentiality works in your specific situation, ask on the free consultation call before you commit to anything.

04First Responders

The thing that usually brings people in

Often it is not the calls. It is the drinking that crept up, the temper that surprised you, or a partner saying they have not seen you in a year. Erin's background is in addiction, anger management and trauma — those three arriving together is a familiar shape, not a disqualifier.

Signs this is the right page

  • Cannot switch off after a shift
  • Sleep is broken and the caffeine is doing the work
  • Temper arriving faster than it used to
  • Drinking more than you would tell anyone

None of this is a diagnosis, and no outcome is guaranteed. It is a starting point for a conversation.

In Erin's words

What she would say if you called today.

If you are on a job where the worst day of someone else's life is your Tuesday, you do not need me to be shocked. You need somewhere to set it down. I have worked with responders long enough to skip the part where you translate.
